OFFERED THROUGH MONTPELIER SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER (MSAC):
Seated Fall Prevention Tai Chi (Tuesdays 4:00-4:45 pm, starting September 22, 10 weeks)
From the comfort and safety of your home, you will learn a simple sequence of movements that can help you help you find serenity, strengthen your immune system, and bring heightened awareness to posture, balance and coordination. A ZOOM invite will be sent out each week. Ideally you should have a minimum of 3′ of even floor space around your firm, straight-backed chair – preferably with no arms. REGISTER WITH MSAC (available 8/24)
Chinese Calligraphy (Wednesdays 12:45-1:45, starting September 23, 10 weeks)
Learn how to prepare your art space and work with the materials; center body and mind; learn basic strokes; and form characters from simple to complex. $15 materials fee to be paid upon registration. Contact Ellie to receive materials. You will need to provide a small sealable glass jar (such as a 1/2 pint mason jar) for ink, another jar or cup for water; plus a desk with room for calligraphy practice plus your laptop or tablet. A ZOOM Invite will be sent out each week; scanned reference pages will also be provided. REGISTER WITH MSAC

Sun Style Long Form Practicum (Tuesdays 5:00-6:00 pm)*
This class is for you if you have studied Sun Style Long Form before, or you have learned a portion of the form and want to continue learning. Dedicating this time for Tai Chi practice will help you deepen your understanding and expression of core Tai Chi principles.
Class starts September 22. $12/class; semester runs 10 weeks. Discount for payment in full $100. Open to reduced payment plans as well as barter.

Hua Yue Tai Chi (Mondays 5:15-6:15 pm*; Thursdays 7:45-8:45)
Join a small but dedicated “pod” of longtime Hua Yue Tai Chi afficionados, as we take a deeper dive into the principles of the Liuhebafa lineage and their expression in the movements of the form. Our class is enriched when we welcome new participants with inquisitive minds and a passion for Tai Chi.
Monday class starts September 14 and runs 12 weeks. $12/class; Full semester discount $120.
Thursday class starts October 1 and runs 8 weeks. $12/class. Full semester discount $80.

– Grab a housemate or member of your COVID-safe pod, for an hour of Tai Chi with a partner!
December 5 – Yiquan Part I Mind Intent
– Experiential exercises inspired by an ancient Daoist manual from Liuhebafa lineage.
January 2 – Yiquan Part II Standing Still
– From movement to deep and restorative rest in stillness, again drawing from Liuhebafa texts.
February 6 – Uproot the Ox by the Tail
– Learn a short form to welcome the Chinese Year of the Ox
